Wow, what a fantastic city! It's so beautiful and so different from any other place in the US. It also knows how to party! I'd been once before (for a Phish concert and Bourbon St romp), but didn't really get to explore like I did this time. I think some of the best pics I've shot on this trip so far were in NOLA, there's just so much to shoot there! This is going to be a big post because of all the shots I like from 'Nawlins, sorry!
This dude tried to make a get-away on our trolley! I had never heard of a "get away trolley" before, but why not. We were "pulled over" by the cops and they told this guy to get out and then cuffed him right there, pretty crazy. That's the second guy to be arrested in close proximity to us on this road trip! The other was in Savannah and you can see a pic of it in that post below :)
There are beads hanging off of literally every single power line, street light, and patio in the French Quarter.
Possessed:
This is the B&B we stayed in, which was great, and our poor little Audi.
Cafe du Monde:
Loius Armstrong park:
Caught some New Orleans Hot Jazz Club at DBA, they were fantastic!
Goodbye NOLA!!!

Tallahassee -- back to the old stomping grounds!
We headed back to Tally, where I went to FSU and lived from 1996-2000. We stayed with Dave and his awesome fiance, Morgan, which was a total blast. I hadn't seen Dave since he visited me in NYC in 2002, along with Chris D and Jason B. Thanks for hooking us up with a place to stay and your diner chow, Dave!
Carson and I also toured the FSU campus and checked out some of my old spots -- the places I lived, went to school, and even where I bought records, Vinyl Fever! I'd heard that things had really changed, but I wasn't prepared for how much. Frankly, I lost my way just trying to get around town near the campus, all the roads and businesses have changed! There are a bunch of pics on here for my old FSU peeps who want to see how things are looking in Tally these days.
We had planned to check out Wakulla Springs or something like that while we were out there, but it rained almost the whole time, oh well.
Anyway, here are some pics:
Me & Dave
Morgan & Thor
The old house on Call St., eight years later, sans all the nice plants Chris D put all around it.
Where Glen & Jenee's little house used to be, now an apartment building. The second pic is where I lived during my Sophomore year at FSU, in that door on the second floor. The ground there, now concrete, was dirt at the time...the dirt onto which my apt mate Steve once dumped a cat-litter box he had filled to the brim himself, ultimately resulting in (Diana's) my other roomie's cat being discovered by the landlord.
This was called "Cash Hall" when I lived there during my Freshman year at FSU. Hopefully, that was a reference to someone's last name. The second pic is the site of "The Louvre," the club I used to promote and DJ for during my Soph and Junior years.
Vinyl Fever, so different inside from when I knew it that it made me feel really old. I found a whole bunch of old albums I loved in the bargain bin and all the turntables but one or two were gone. There was no longer a section for vinyl beyond maybe a few feet of mostly hip hop. It was super lame.
This one is for Jen, her old dorm, Jennie Murphree Hall.
Me & Paul.
This used to be a street that went right through campus. Now it is a car-free brick walking area with this nice statue up there. Peeps who went to FSU should recognize the spot, the light up there is at Tennessee St.
This is mine and Jen's old haunt, the Bellamy building. The second pic is just a nice admin and medical center building on the quad.
This one is for Glen & Jenee. This is the dorm they lived in and met in back in 1996.
Oglesby Union, if I remember the official name correctly, just "the union" to students, of course.
Carson on the quad.
If you lived in Tally, you have to click on this and look at the big version. This is the corner of Call St & Stadium Dr. My old house was one block away from this spot and I walked by this everyday to get to campus. This road going around the stadium was not here. I believe that's part of the new medical school there on the left. WOW, totally different!
Finally, there's Dave, plying his trade in the second diner he's opened in the last 3 years or so! Awesome food!

Hanging with the Moras in Sarasota!
We had some SERIOUS catching up to do with Glenee and the Mora clan, Dominic is already two and half years old and I've never met the kid!
Da Man.
Awwww.
Even Jenee can hardly keep up.
The many faces of Dominic:
Dancing to Wiggles!
Mina and her stern-looking Momma.
An ill-fated attempt to hit the beach; there was way too much seaweed in the water to enjoy it.
